A podcast is a location on the internet to which you can "subscribe" to receive regular downloads of MP3 files to your desktop or MP3 player.
If you subscribe to a podcast, your player will check the site where the MP3 files are located and look at the timestamps of the files. If there is a file that is newer than the most recent file that you downloaded, the player will download the files. How frequently the files are checked, and where the files are downloaded (to an iPod or desktop folder) is up to you.
To receive a podcast subscription, you need some software.
If you don't have an iPod or other standalone MP3 player, you can set up a podcast receiver on your desktop. We recommend a free application (open source) called Juice™ (formerly called iPodder). (Donations to the software developers are voluntary, but if you like the software, do unto others....)

Once you have your podcast receiver set up, or if you have an MP3 player such as an iPod™, you can subscribe to the feed for the uuradio.org broadcast. Here are directions for Juice on the desktop:
You can use Tools -> Schedule to set up how often the Juice will check for new episodes in the podcast. (It is recommended that you use the longer time spans such as 12 or 8 hours if you do not choose a specific time of day to check). When you have internet access, the iPodder will perform its check and download new files according to the Schedule settings.
Note: UURadio is updated weekly by uuradio.org. You do not need to check it more frequently. You can run a check for new files manually every weekend or Monday morning.
